Percy Sanchez (CEO)

We are Analía, Percy, and Santiago. We were a young couple of Peruvians with our heads full of dreams when we decided to embark on an adventure in 1999. We traveled around the beaches, rivers, valleys and the enormous mountains of Peru, but none of what we saw caused such a visual impact on us as the Amazon River and the jungle.

We sought a location which was as far as possible from civilization, and, with the help of the Community of San Juan de Yanayacu this dream became reality. From then on, Muyuna became our life project. Every day, Muyuna shows to the world a sustainable approach to responsible and conscious tourism. Countless travelers have been trapped by the legend of Muyuna, returning more than once to where it all began.

Muyuna is entirely Peruvian, including all the employees in Iquitos and the jungle. Likewise, most of the inputs that we use, besides being of excellent quality, are made in Peru; from the sheets, towels, bath products, food, etc. The received money is invested in Peru and San Juan de Yanayacu benefits from it.

We hope you can help us continue this beautiful story. If you ever came, you’re part of it now.

Thanks from Analia Sarfati, Percy Sanchez and Santiago Sanchez!

The Legend

Many travelers have been trapped by Muyuna, returning more than once to where it all began. Muyuna (Quechua word) means whirlpool. According to the legend, whoever falls into it is trapped and will never be able to escape. It has a force which will remain inside of you, and when you think you are at home, safe and far from this spell, Muyuna will obligate you to return to this hidden corner of the world.
